Can I use ZIP Locator if my locations are stored in a
database?
Yes! Example code is provided that demonstrates how the ZIP Locator component can be used to directly retrieve locations
from your own database. You may use the example to quickly create your own store
locator page that works with your database.
How do I manually install the component?
It is recommended that you run the installer, ziplocator.msi, on
the server. This will install and register the component on the server, making it
ready to use in your web site.
However, you may install the component manually by doing the following:
- Install the files: Copy the files ziplocator.dll and ziplocator.dat
to a folder on the server (ex. C:\ziplocator\).
- Register the DLL: On the server, choose Start > Run and type
the following:
regsvr32 “C:\ziplocator\ziplocator.dll”
